I have been working as a nanny for 12 years then I decided to go to School for LVN ( Licensed Vocational Nurse). Being in nursing school, I learned about doula as a nursing branch or specialization. After graduating from my nursing training, I worked as an LVN private care for 2 years then decided to work exclusively as a postpartum doula because of my passion for babies. Also, I noticed that there is a need in the area and want to be a part of the solution.

                              Who is Vickie Onanga

Vickie is a name derived from my middle name, Victoire—a beautiful French name meaning 'victory.' I was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in central Africa. After arriving in the United States 25 years ago with a degree in psychology, I pursued my passion for caregiving by studying nursing. I worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for many years before transitioning into my current role as a doula, where I continue to support and empower families during one of life’s most meaningful moments.
